Sending your first fax with InterFAX
Follow the following six steps to send your first internet fax from your email.
| Action |
Comments |
| 1. Create a new email message |
You can use any email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or even web-based
email, such as Yahoo!, Hotmail, and Gmail. |
| 2. Verify that the "From:" address in your email is an allowed
sender in your Interfax account. |
The address with which you registered to Interfax is automatically added as an allowed
sender.
You may add any number of allowed senders through your account (To do this, log into your account, select Preferences > Outgoing, and under "Sending Permissions" add/edit/delete allowed senders). |
| 3. Enter the destination fax number into the "To:"
field. |
The number format is: +[country code][area
code][fax number]@fax.tc . For example, if you wish to send a fax to 555-1212 in New
York, you would enter: +1212555-1212@fax.tc |
| 4. Enter a subject line. |
The subject line is not faxed, but will be visible to you in your outbound fax queue
screen. |
| 5. Enter your text into the email and/or attach documents
to be faxed. |
a.) If you wish to fax only the email body text - Enter your text
into the email's body.
b.) If you wish to fax one or more attachments with no email body text - Attach
one or more documents to your email. The attachments will be faxed out in their order of attachment.
For types of documents that Interfax supports, see Supported File Types.
c.) If you wish to fax both the email body text AND one or more attachments - Enter
your text, attach your document(s) and add /b (forward slash b) to the end of the subject
line you entered in step 4. |
| 6. Click "Send" |
Your email is sent to Interfax, where it automatically gets converted into a fax and sent to the destination number. |
Following the progress of your fax
- Login to your Interfax account using your username and password.
- Select Fax Queues, then Outbound Queue. A list will appear showing all of your recently sent faxes and their current status.
