New inbound fax to your email feature enhances privacy
New inbound feature enhances privacy.
InterFAX announces the introduction of a feature designed to enhance user privacy. The new 'Delete fax after completion' feature, previously available for outbound service only, is now available for inbound fax to your email service.
When this feature - which is off by default - is activated, inbound faxes are deleted from InterFAX servers once they have been forwarded to the subscriber. This means that no fax image history is retained on InterFAX servers, making private correspondence safe from potential hackers.
The new feature is managed from the regular InterFAX inbound preferences screen:

The feature settings are:
Don't delete - Received faxes are kept on InterFAX servers for a period of one week, during which they may be viewed online.
Delete- The fax image file is deleted from InterFAX servers immediately after being forwarded by email to the subscriber and receiving a confirmation from his SMTP server.
Only delete after retrieval by XML Web Service - This option is intended for advanced users only, who retrieve Interfax programmatically through the Fax Web Service. Since faxes are not necessarily forwarded by email when using the Web Service, the image file will be deleted from InterFAX servers only after the message is retrieved through the Web Service interface.
