16 May 2006 Improved Handling of Automatic Prepaid Package Topup

We have recently improved the handling of automatic topup ("Repeat Orders") of prepaid packages. Until now, the Interfax system did not handle some automatic topup situations gracefully. For example, credit which expired in the middle of a fax broadcast, or attempted credit card charge transactions which failed, would cause fax transactions to fail on a "Quota Exceeded" error.

With this new improvement, faxes submitted after an account has expired its credit will not immediately fail, but will be suspended in an interim status called "Pending Payment". Faxes will be held in this status for 24 hours, during which subscribers may purchase an additional prepaid package from their account. Once purchased, held transactions will be released by using the newly-purchased credit.

If an additional prepaid package is not purchased within 24 hours - the held faxes will fail on "Quota Exceeded".
