Case Study: Tidningsstallet ABAugust 2007At the Cutting EdgeTwelve years ago, Jonny Andersen began Tidningsstallet AB as an owner-operated business that functions within a network of service providers. It offers a host of tools that are essential for content delivery and high-performance. As the company has deepened its value with new technologies and solutions, Tidningsstallet has stayed at the cutting edge of the trends. Today, it offers a small ISP, as well as a powerful email service that is a multi-threaded, full-featured mail and list server for Mac OS X. The Tidningsstallet database service is based on Filemaker, while MySQL is the cornerstone of its database-driven websites. The high-speed MySQL is widely recognized as the most popular, reliable database in the world. It also offers iTools, a family of separately installable packages that add functionality to the web server and eCommerce iTools to extend the platform with a point-and-click interface and exciting set of new features. The Fax SolutionInterFAX is part of the rich array of services Tidningsstallet brings to its customers. Two years ago, when one of his customers explained that they were sending large volumes of faxes manually, as many as 3 or 4 times a week, Jonny Andersen thought, "There ought to be a service that will make high-volume faxing cheaper, easier and more convenient." After careful research, he determined that InterFAX was the best choice among the internet faxing services. He was most impressing by the pricing, the ease-of-use and the professional presentation of the service and website itself. Tidningsstallet very quickly incorporated InterFAX into its own offerings and made it available to meet its customers' faxing needs. It worked from the beginning. "It was an immediate solution for customers," Andersen said. "When they want to do a high-volume fax, they just push a button. They don't actually know how it's working, it just works." He can't really say whether the technical support at InterFAX is any good or not. He's never needed it! In a Perfect WorldIf he could change one thing, Andersen would like to have the option of stopping an outgoing fax. Every now and then, it's easy to make a mistake and hit "send" too soon. When that happens, it would be ideal to be able to cancel the transmission before the fax speeds on its way. On the other hand, Andersen says, "It's not possible to compare internet faxing to the old fax machines. I wouldn't dream of going back to ordinary faxes." Although he previously relied heavily on fax machines, Andersen finds the InterFAX service to be far superior. "It's hard to understand how it can be faster and cheaper for us to send an email to you first, and then for you to send it to our customers. But it is. It's incredible!" |
