Credit-card industry security compliance drives creation of Secure Lounge premium service.
Interfax is proud to announce that it has been certified as a tier-1 PCI DSS-compliant service provider. With the certification, InterFAX becomes the world's first Internet fax company to achieve compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Established by global credit-card firms, PCI DSS is a new required standard enabling the creation of a secure environment for companies processing, storing or transmitting credit-card data. The PCI DSS certification further underscores InterFAX's commitment to offering highly secure fax services that meet the world's most stringent privacy and security regulations.
As part of the certification process, InterFAX developed a dedicated IT infrastructure subsystem that underwent rigorous compliance testing by a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certified by the PCI Security Standards Council. Implementation of the hardened infrastructure ensures that InterFAX PCI outgoing faxes pass through an encrypted path, and are deleted from the system immediately after being sent.
Addressing US HIPAA requirements and maintaining compliance with the Japanese Privacy Mark, InterFAX has leveraged its PCI DSS certification to create the InterFAX Secure Lounge. A new premium security service offering, the Secure Lounge includes an array of state-of-the-art features and services. These include active-active infrastructure for higher reliability, separate infrastructure enabling private queues and dedicated servers for faster faxing, and priority support for enhanced maintenance. Bringing data protection to another level, the InterFAX Secure Lounge is suitable for organizations that need to fax credit-card information, as well as for health, financial, online food, and a range of other enterprises.
"Security is a strategic priority for both InterFAX and our customers. As a result, we've made SSL and PKI inputs, as well as our popular 'Delete Fax after Completion' feature, integral parts of our service offering," said Adam Marash, co-founder of InterFAX. "Achieving certification for PCI DSS, which has become a mandatory industry standard, is another step toward fulfilling our commitment to providing unrivaled security. And so is our newly created InterFAX Secure Lounge service, which brings all of our security capabilities under one umbrella to safeguard customers' fax activities in the short and long run."
